The purpose of my visual artwork is to spark a sense of creativity in the viewer. I want someone to walk away from my work feeling playful, and ready to make something beautiful.

The symbols in the art are inspired by the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Northwestern Spain, where I trekked 300 miles by foot in May/June 2009. Yellow arrows, scallop shells, and messages of love artistically graffitied in multiple languages marked the path to Santiago. The arrows pointed the way, and also pointed to a statement more or less equivalent to: "This way to love..."

I got love struck.

And I felt inspired to spread a message of love across the world, starting with my own home, and the homes of my family and friends.  I tagged the word "Love" on everything, but to make it my own, I tossed an accent mark over the "o" and changed the pronunciation to "Lóve," (loh-veh) like the Italian "dove," (doh-veh, means "where").

All the works, large or small, abstract or scratchy, have a little bit of Lóve peppered about them. Lóve letters spill over the canvas, and are represented by the mark of two "X's," which equal a hug in "xoxo" greetings. It's the mark of Sr. Bojorquez, a mysterious Spanish explorer who blazes trails of creativity, love and inspiration across the world. . .
